PROGRAMMES OF STUDY

The following accredited academic programmes of study are organized at the Faculty of Business Economics in Valjevo:

- Undergraduate studies of Business Economics
- Postgraduate studies of Agribusiness Economics – Master
- Postgraduate specialist studies of Agribusiness Economics

Upon completion of undergraduate studies, students acquire the following competencies:

  • basic economic knowledge and skills which enable comprehension of companies doing business in changeable and uncertain surroundings;
  • the ability to apply the acquired knowledge and skills to actual tasks and to executive company management with focus on the product and service users;
  • the ability to apply IS and IT to actual tasks;
  • the ability to use basic literature, to collect and interpret data necessary for identifying and solving operational problems and all that with the use of mathematical and statistical methods;
  • the ability to pass on the acquired knowledge and/or continue studies to higher education;

Upon completion of postgraduate master studies, students acquire the following competencies:

  • deeper economic, legal and management knowledge which enable comprehension of company business processes, and social and economic processes in general;
  • comprehension of world tendencies in using natural resources, sustainable economic development, agricultural and rural development and environmental protection;
  • the ability to foresee, identify and solve strategic problems of company management;
  • the ability to continuously educate themselves, to use vocational literature, analyse and do research into more complex agribusiness problems;
  • the teamwork ability and skill to pass on the acquired knowledge to other individuals at the company or institution;
  • knowledge necessary for professional development and/or further education on specialist or doctoral studies, and lifelong agribusiness education as well;

Upon completion of postgraduate specialist studies, students acquire the following competencies:

  • higher level of general and specialist company business and management knowledge, which enables successful operative work;
  • the microeconomic and financial analysis ability, ability to apply mathematical and statistical methods, to use marketing skills at agricultural market research and to develop diverse cooperation models necessary for efficient business decisions;
  • the ability to adapt to the influence of the world market, the World Trade Organization (WTO ) and the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) on the domestic agribusiness entities;
  • The ability to understand and comprehend the national policy in the field of agriculture, food, and to use productively structural and market stimulations to help the development of agricultural and rural areas.
